Here's his suggested treatment for the problem:
- Go for long walks and get more exercise.
I'm okay with that. - Get more fiber in my diet - fruit and vegetables.
Love fruit, enjoy salads, cooked veggies - would rather leave them but... - Some minor procedures should be performed that will improve things and avoid future problems.
I'm all for preventive medicine. - Stay away from soft drinks.
Not a problem I've never really been a fan of pop - other than coke with my rum, which I don't drink anymore. - Avoid drinking wine.

Poor Willym. My guts landed me in the same place several years ago. I pretty much don't drink at all anymore. This is coming from a man who never met a cocktail he didn't like.
It's an adjustment, but you really will feel better. I'm just sorry to hear this has befallen you. It is not a fate I would wish on anyone.
I'm thinking it's time for a second opinion..
I'm right there with you- every time I hear "For a woman your age' come out of someone's mouth my right palm starts to itch.
Poor Willym, but if it makes you feel better to not drink it I think it is good. You are giving one good feeling up for another.
Even Scripture says one should take a little wine for their stomach. I think that's the silliest advice I've ever heard.
Of course, I'm a wine drinker, not a doctor, so I'd probably ignore me.
Glad to know, though, that you are essentially fit. That's a good thing.
(Excuse me now, Cousin Doralong and I are going to go bitchslap your doctor).
WTF indeed! I was with you until #5, when my brain came screeching to a halt.
My sincere condolences. I mean, the hard stuff I can give up. Beer, well, I do love a good ale, but I could give it up. But wine? That's just ... even Jesus said to heck with this water, and went for the wine.
And this is an Italian doctor too?
