Though, for obvious reasons, I do not normally get involved nor comment on Italian politics or government policies I am with Italian bloggers on this one.
On July 14, 2009, Italian bloggers will muzzle themselves in the Web as well as in Piazza Navona in Rome, at 7PM where they will meet to protest against an Italian government bill (the Alfano decree) introducing a number of new rules which will limit the freedom of expression in Italian internet. I'm still not sure from this what the Italian government wants to do, exactly (though nothing would surprise me from Berlusconi).
You can't, however, answer that today as you're in quarantine...
I find this type of thing more than a little disturbing my friend.

well, that's just plumb scary. I refuse to think that the free thinking Italians will allow that to go on without a big ass fight.

What in the world are they thinking? What is it that they want to "rectify?" Have they said?
This is amazing..ythis should be making world news..it isnt something that just Italians shoud be protesting on their own.
