Monet by Eggman913

The very talented Philip Scott Johnson (Eggman913) has once again wedded image with music to create a beautiful video. This time its a tribute to two Claudes - Monet and Debussy.

Music: Prélude à l'après-midi d'un faune (Prelude to the Afternoon of a Faun), for orchestra, L. 86

Video - Baroque Art

Its been a while since I've seen anything by Philip Scott Johnson over at Eggman913 on YouTube. His previous work has included some really remarkable videos: Women in Western Art, Women in Films, Visages d'Art and Men in Films. He has a wonderful talent for combining images and music and this is his newest and, I think, one of his best.

The music is Bach's Prelude And Fugue No. 1 In C Major - BWV 846 from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1 performed by Daniel Ben Pienaar.

Video - Men in Films

Once again Eggman913 - Philip Scott Johnson - has worked his video magic. A few months ago he produced a wonderful video of Women in Films and his most recent work gives us the male faces of (mostly) Hollywood. As with female beauty the concept of what constitutes male beauty has changed over the years.

Music: Bach's Allemande from Suite for Solo Cello No. 3 in C Major, BWV 1009 performed by Antonio Meneses.

Video - Visages d'Art

Once again Philip Scott Johnson (Eggman913) has worked his video magic. I find the morphing of the first two images particularly fascinating.

Music: Bach's Prelude And Fugue No. 6 In D Minor BWV 851 - Praeludium from the Well-Tempered Clavier, Book 1 performed by Daniel Ben Pienaar.

Masterworks

It had been a while - a long while, in fact I missed his Christmas animation - since I visited Eggman913 (Phillip Scot Johsnon)at YouTube. His Women in Art and Women in Films animations from last year where amongst my favorites.

Music: Beethoven's Symphony No. 8 in F Major - 2nd Movement - Allegretto Scherzando performed by Philharmonia Baroque.

Video - Women In Films

Once again Eggman913 has worked his video magic. Some of the images fly by so quickly I found I was thinking: Oh that's.... what's-her-name.... was in..... Of course it may have more to do with my fading memory than video speed.

What's that line from Sunset Boulevard (the movie not the Andrew Lloyd Webber crap?)

We had faces!

They sure as hell did!

ADDENDUM: Did I just miss it or is Bette Davis missing from this montage? (July 7, 2007)
ADDENDOM TO THE ADDENDUM: Red7Eric tells me that Miss Davis is indeed there - in her blond days. (July 9, 2007)

Video - Women in Western Art

A beautiful piece of video art created by Eggman913 - with the help of a few of the renowned - and not so well-known - artists of the past 500 years. And his Picasso and Civil War videos are exceptional pieces of video, you might want to check them out on YouTube.

Wish I knew what the cello piece is!
