I advise you to buy the recent Glyndebourne Falstaff just about to be released, and enjoy it in the quiet of your own home.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14506881804082382739noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25672101.post-57168191450178501662010-01-26T09:46:45.709-05:002010-01-26T09:46:45.709-05:00Sorry to hear that about the once great Bruson, bu...Sorry to hear that about the once great Bruson, but not surprised. He was pretty bad as Don Alfonso in an all-round-dreadful Cosi I saw at the lovely Teatro Argentina quite a few Christmases ago.

Mind you, nothing could beat the near-tragic spectacle of Katia Ricciarelli in a Bergamo concert (also some years ago now). She flashed a few divine phrases as Maria Stuarda, but the rest was embarrassing, and she knew it. Two old ladies behind us shouted out 'sei bella, Katya', and she answered with a grimace, as if to say, 'that wasn't good'. And it really wasn't.Davidhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14506881804082382739noreply@blogger.com
